b1434 Cue editor export to database.

I’ve just noticed that when setting cue & ramps etc in the cue editor the “Export to Database” is greyed out. Export to mmd file is available.
The database seems to be OK.
Can’t believe I had not noticed this before…anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Al: In Configuration, what setting do you have for:
Runtime Features, Save to Database in Item Properties and PFL dialogs?

If that checkbox isn’t selected, Export to Database buttons will be greyed out; if not, it could be a bug.

I notice this for songs which aren’t already IN the Mairlist Database.

eg. If I manually have a song on my desktop and drag it into Mairlist to play, then try Export to Database it is greyed out

Yes, that’s true. The feature only works for items that have already been added to the database. So it’s rather “Update in database” than “Export to database”.

Also keep in mind that the database can only manage files that are located in one of the registered storage folders. So you cannot add just any file from any location. This is not iTunes  (When you use the Import dialog in the database, the files will be copied into the selected storage.)

Thanks for the replies, it’s not that simple.
CAD, yes the run time features are set correctly, but the problem, if it is really a problem, is how v4.1 compares to 4.0.
I create m3u playlists using windows media player. Yes, call me old fashioned! I then add the playlist to mairlist and set all the cue & ramps ready for use later on. V4.0 allows you to export the changes to the database.

In V4.1 the export to database is greyed out using the above method. However, if you drag the song from the database; edit it you can export/update the database.

Itunes - I could almost be insulted.

I’m very surprised that it worked that way in v4.0: it “shouldn’t have!”

Cad (who never used v4.0)

Thanks CAD.

I inherited this way of working from V2, never had V3.
I was using V4.0 in the above time honoured fashion, it was V4.1 that is different.

There was a bug in v4.1 that caused the button to be grayed out when you dragged the file from anywhere other than the Database browser (from Explorer etc.). This has been fixed in the recent b1435.
