Axia GPIO and play + start automation

Where did you see this?

Maybe we are talking about different things… :slightly_smiling_face:

Forget about AUTO for a second and solely try

PLAYER 1-1 START

That works normaly… it start playing on player 1.

Good. Now go back to the sequence but please increase the value for SLEEP. You had cut it from 500 down to 10 ms.

I just entered:

AUTOMATION 1 OFF; SLEEP(500); PLAYER 1-1 START; SLEEP(500); AUTOMATION 1 ON

But still it turn on AUTO and that’s all…

Just to make it clear in reference to this screenshot from the other thread:

Which player do you try to start with the fader?

MAIN, A, B, C, D?

The main player. The one where PLAY works, and all other combination with multiple “play” and “auto” commands doesn’t work…

Could you please try if this works?

AUTOMATION 1 ON; AUTOMATION 1 NEXT

It will turn on the Automation and start the next item in the playlist.

What makes me wonder: Does PLAYER 1-1 STOP stops the Player even when the automation is on?

Yeah, this works… Great!
One more Q… is it possible to send signal back to Axia to turn the line to OFF?

Please specifiy: What did you mean with “Line”?

Fantastic. To explain my other question

If the player not stops after using the fader or disable the channel you’d need to set the command to

AUTOMATION 1 OFF; PLAYER 1-1 STOP

Yes, I set up the OFF command line like that and it turns of the play and automation.

The line is this first fader line with “ON” and “OFF” buttons. When I press ON it turns light on and do the start of PLAY+AUTO command.

And when I press manually the OFF it stops playing and turn off the automation.

My question is: is it possible to tell Axia tu turn off “ON” and switch to “OFF” when automation and play is desabled with this option.

This depends on what Axia likes to “hear” from mAirList. Please refer to the article I put a link to before.

BTW: I would change the Command for the OFF-Button to PLAYER 1-1 FADEOUT to make a smooth song’s exit without using the fader…

I don’t know much about AXIA consoles, sorry.

But under Miscellaneous you can send remote commands in Chain like before, start scripts and send commands to a serial port/interface.

I sent email to Tellos/Axia support in USA, maybe they will know how do their equipment operate. Thank you for all support. If I need some more after their reply, I’ll contact you.

On a side note, starting with mAirList 7.1 (now in beta), it is possible to conveniently specify the GPIO number for each player, and mAirList will take care of the rest:

No need to enter commands manually anymore.

Wow, thats great. Looking forward to subversion 7.1.
Will it also handle the GPIO stuff with buttons that I have asked maybe?

I got this answer from Tellos;

There are two possibilities.

If you have your sources on your console configured as “Line” source types, this article describes the pins used.

If you have them set up as “Computer Player” souce types this is the GPIO

Either way, to turn a channel OFF, you would need to set PIN 2 LOW… Like HLHHH

You will need to PULSE the L. If you leave the L setting, it will be like holding your finger on the OFF button.

Can you please help me how can I do this? My source is set to Computer Player. How do i pulse HLHHH to console, or what should be the channel? Is that 2 or 12?

Did you read what @Torben wrote two posts before?

About 7.1 new functio? We are goin into live program with mAirList and Axia this Saturday on 1st od October… I cannot wait the stabile 7.1. We are now on 7.0.5.

So might have been a little enthusiastic with your timing?
