Hi there,
I have noticed that there isn’t a Time Announcement function on Mairlist.
Time announcement at TOTH is quite common standard in some countries (Italy, Spain etc)
Here’s an example:
In this case, there’s a single track containing TOTH + time announcement bed + hour opener bed + TOTH Jingle, with a pre-recorded time announcement (It’s 14 / O’clock), and the speaker covering the Jingle ramp.
As Time announcement isn’t necessarily at hh:00, many playouts work this way:
- Generic Hour folder (containing tracks for all 24 variations of the message: “It’s ‘hour’…”)
- Generic Minutes folder (containing tracks for all 60 variations of the message: “…and ‘minute’ minutes”)
- Bespoke variations can overwrite the generic Hour+Minute combo. This is used in case you want to record 3 variants (just to keep it live-like) of “It’s three o’clock” to overwrite the standard “It’s three…” “…and 0 minutes” combination, or overwrite the standard “it’s three…” “…and 59 minutes” with a bespoke audio file saying “It’s a few seconds to four”.
Then these combinations are mounted in a container and placed on top of a bed.
Something worth considering?
Thanks,
Alessio
