Auto Mix Suggestions

Hello All,

I’m enjoying the using the new Auto-Mix feature in my rotations. However, I think there could be a small implementation that could make the feature sound even more professional on air.

My current auto mix rules are set for the placement to be at the end. This sounds great when song intros are short. However, I think a powerful addition to the rules would be the ability to select a placement option after intros are over X seconds.

For example, ideally, I’d like to be able to set the placement of my sweepers to the beginning of the track when intros are longer than 20 seconds. This sounds much more professional on air rather than having a 30-second intro with a sweeper placed on the last 6 seconds.

Let me know what you think.

In the pre-v8 era there had been around a script for placing ramps which was able to consider the difference in length between ramp and drop (to be chosen by the user).

All your (legit) suggestions were already discussed internally in the beta but there were so many important other features to work on for Torben.

So for now this is just a basically feature but is planned to be re-worked later with more/better options.

Personally I’m hoping for the use of a custom attribute to allow sweepers in specific songs or disable them in automations.

Partly the ramps have too much duration, partly they are not really usable for sweepers because of speech in it.

That’s a great suggestion also Stefan.

I actually don’t think too much needs to be re-worked. Just more how the rules of automix work.

The way the rules should work in my example would be as follows

  1. Check length of Ramp.
  2. Is length of ramp longer than user specified max length. (20 Seconds)
  3. If yes, place automix item at user defined position 1. (Beginning in my example)
  4. If no, place automix item at user defined position 2 (Current rule for placement)
