Is there any way of getting an option so that the mairlist is kind of in automation but at the end of the item it is playing it stops. basically so that it means all i have to do is press the same button all the time.
So, you press go to play the item
You press go while an item is playing and it fades to the next item
If you dont press go on the item it simply stops at the end of the item.
Therefore it is sort of automation and sort of assist.
Is this a configurable option? is it even possible?
I roughly remember something like this being discussed before but not sure what the answer was. I just think it would be useful as sometimes you have to sit flicking between assist and automation to get the desired transition. with this option you would have the best of both worlds.
What do you think? Would anybody else find this option useful?
You can stay in assist mode use the “link” feature found in the recent v2.1 versions. Just click the right-most column, and a blue arrow will appear. mAirList will then link the item to the following one, just like they were played in automation. The chains can have an arbitrary length.
You can also switch into automation and insert Break items at the points where you want the playback to be interrupted. mAirList will stop playing and wait for clicking “play” again.
Im aware of those two features. i was simply thinking of a simple option.
The problem with the linking is that you have to wait until the end of the track for it to fade to the next item whereas i may want to fade to the next item half way through something. Or is there a way you can tell it to play next using the link option?
Also, the break option means having to insert it. The idea i was thinking of was that it would act like assist mode so that it automatically stopped at the end of an item. I just wondered if there was a simple way of doing this rather than having to keep switching between auto and assist.
It was just an idea, dont worry i can survive without it.
cough!< : Click the Player’s Fadeout button. (Use Config, Playlist, Player to make this Player button visible if it isn’t already.) The Fade will Start the next linked item in the same Player. 8)
PS: Why do you type TOPIC SUBJECTS ALL IN CAPITAL LETTERS? It looks like you’re shouting ;)!
Didnt realise when items are linked, the fadeout button will start the next item. That is very useful
Cheers
P.S. Not shouting, Dont know why i do. Used to doing it for other forums to making things stand out i spose. Will try and refrain from doing so in the future so as not to cause you too much upset
