Attribute columns missing in database editor record overview

Hi all,

I’m using the lastest mAirlist version (Build 5820) and I was wondering if there is a known issue. I encountered an issue in the database editor. I’ve added new standard attributes to the configuration and they all show up properly in the property view of a database record. However, the first three attributes seem to be missing in the record overview of the library window, in the database editor. I’ve tried moving around the attributes in the configuration and also tried to remove some attributes, but the first three attributes remain missing.

In the screen shot below you’ll find an example of the issue.

The database record is too long to fit on the screen, so I’ve combined two screenshots (one showing the beginning of the record and one showing the end). I’ve also added the standard attribute configuration and the property view of the record to the screenshot, showing the attributes. Finally I’ve added the query output to the screenshot, so you can see that the data is in the database.

I’ve opened and closed the database editor multiple times, but to no avail.

Perhaps I’m missing something or doing something wrong.

Please advice,

Kind regards,
Marco

Hi Marco,

did you try to add the extra standard attributes to the database itself? The attributes in the playout configuration will be saved only locally and not transfered to the main database automatically.

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for your prompt advise. I did not know that you should change this configuration in two places. Any idea why? Anyway, I’ve added the same configuration to the database using the database editor, guided by your screenshot. Then I closed all mairlist instances and opened the database editor again, unfortunately the first three fields are still missing. Moreover, the 4th and the 5th field from the end are missing too. I didn’t notice that before, but it seemed already be the case in my previous screenshot.

Perhaps I’m still doing something wrong, but this time I followed your instruction meticulously.

Hi, so the attributes were shown in the item itself but not in the library or playlist view?

I‘m curious if you just did not activate the attribute column to be shown in the playlist or database view. I‘m not at the PC right now but you can de-/activate every attribute in a sub-menu of the menu bar…

You can use local settings as well for your own songs when you are connected to a main database, where all attributes are pre-defined and not changeable by the client machine.

Hi Stefan,

You’re right, I didn’t activate the new attribute columns. I didn’t know that you could (de-)activate each attribute via the ‘Select library Items’ menu item. I tried to add the items by right clicking one of the library columns, but I didn’t see option there to add additional columns, so I thought it was not possible.

Adding the new attributes works flawlessly, so my problem is resolved.

Thanks again, for helping me out!

Great it works for you now!

Yes, that indeed would be a great option, but afair it is not possible due to the history of mAirList.

I really would like to have different sets of activated rows too that can be loaded on demand…
