Dear all
Just installed samdj 4 and filled the database.
Now I want to connect with the sql and mairlist asks for the protocol.
PostGreSQL is installed but I didn’t see any protocol name.
What is the name of the protocol used

I don’t know for sure whether or not mAirList can ‘use’ a SAM database (?), but if I recall correctly, it isn’t possible (unless Torben tells you otherwise :D).
If by ‘protocol’ you mean the Config setting, bear in mind that the Database section of Config is intended to connect to specific databases (iTunes, eldoDB, and radioDB), not to ‘any’ SQL database. But for the record, ‘protocol’ means the version of the client DLL used to connect to the SQL. You can find the details here:

I am using mAirlist 3.0
In the config screen you can choose audimark, eldodb, radioDB2, sam broadcaster 4, on the fly and itunes
So thats why I need the protocol name

OK, my mistake! I haven’t really looked at V3 yet.

Are we talking about SAM Party DJ or SAM Broadcaster here? I only know about the latter. It can use a variety of database engines, see here: http://www.spacialaudio.com/?page=sam-broadcaster-download
So to answer your question, Martin, we need to know which one you picked.
The “protocol” field means “the type of SQL database to connect to”. You will also need to get a copy of the corresponding client library, e.g. libmysql.dll for MySQL. Note that the “version” part of the protocol field refers to the version of the DLL, not the version of the server which must not necessarily match. For example, with the popular version 3.23 of the MySQL client library (libmysql323.dll) you can easily connect to all v3.23 and v4.0 servers and, with a little modification to your MySQL user account, also to more recent server versions.
Sorry I just tried Sam Broadcaster 4
The on the fly database works as well.
Just wondering, it’s not possible to print the list to a pdf or something?
