We use Mairlist at our radio station, and the other night our computer crashed during automation hours and since then we have both music and cartwall/jingles coming out of one fader when we used to have it on seperate faders. Is this a soundcard failure or has a setting disappeared from mairlist somewhere?
I presume this is a single soundcard with multiple outputs (5.1 or so).
Check mAirListConfig if the player-specific sound card config still lists all speaker pairs. If you only see “default” and “front”, you might have to set your sound card to 5.1 speakers in Windows’ Control Panel, and/or enable “force multichannel output” in the BASS.DLL options in mAirListConfig.
PS: Some soundcards also need BASS_SAMPLE_FLOAT off and/or BASS_SAMPLE_SOFTWARE on before they work in multichannel mode. Must be set for each player separately in v2.2.
Can I just say I have no knowledge of Mairlist or the setting up of it, as a former presenter set it up, so sorry for being so vague. All I know is that he set up a ‘jingle fader’ to deal with the cartwall and PFL off air, and a ‘music’ fader which dealt with the main wall. Now all of a sudden the ‘jingle fader’ has just stopped working and everything is coming out of the main ‘music’ fader. Now I believe he added another soundcard, but when I had a look in the computer last night I couldn’t see nothing which would represent a ‘soundcard’. Yes I know im hopeless, im just the ‘drive’ presenter, but have the most technical knowledge, so the jobs mine
Oh, alright. Don’t worry, we’ll help to track that error down.
In the folder C:\Program Files\mAirList\config (or wherever you installed mAirList), you’ll find a file named “devices.ini”. Can you please post that file here, or send it to info@mAirList.com? I need to take a closer look at your device configuration.
Ok, so as I suspected, it’s a single sound card with two (or more) outputs. The config seems ok.
Have you checked what kind of speakers are set for that sound card in Control Panel? It must be set to quadrophonic or even 5.1 surround. Otherwise the second output can’t be used by mAirList as Windows hides it from all programs.
Regarding the Google map, I haven’t managed to put everybody on it who sent me their address. It turned out to be more manual work than I expected. I’d rather write a PHP script where everybody can post their details (station name, location and coordinates) and they are added to the map automatically
