The mystery of the silent playlist

Hi there,

Just had a message from one of our presenters to say that the software was acting strange. Basically it looked like it was playing music out of the playlist but in reality it wasn’t actually making any noise at all… Any ideas how this might’ve happened as it is very weired. to solve the problem it was a case of opening and then closing it again but it shouldn’t happen in the first place…

Can you give some details about your audio configuration? DirectSound, WASAPI, ASIO?

If the player still appears to be playing (time is advancing), it means that the audio was accepted by the sound card driver. If you don’t hear anything though, the problem is in the driver or beyond.

mAirlist is outputting to a DirectSound sound card. It looks like it is playing the mAirlist level metres are working but the sound isn’t making its way to the mixing desk in anyway.

If this is Windows Vista or above, check if you see the audio level flickering in the Windows Control Panel audio playback devices window.

If i remember correctly they were not.

This isn’t a constant problem but I think something triggers it and we then have to restart the software.

Any clues? Is there a solution to this problem? using mairlist v4.3 at the moment
