Sound Card Configuration

Hi All

I am new to the forum so bear with me if I am not sounding up to speed. i have been using mairlist for a year or so and I configured my soundcard without any problems and all was well.

About three or four months ago for some reason the software kept crashing so I reinstalled but to no avail.Today I tried it on a different PC that had not run it before but again it crashed after pressing the play button on the first track.

I have the Personal edition and my licence is ok - I have a creative Soundblaster Live 24 Bit external USB coundcard which is set to 5.1 surround sound speakers. When I go into configuration the test sounds very distorted when using the hardware mixing option but ok on the software mixing option. I have even tried to set the BASS DLL to Force multiple output but it seems to make no difference.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

I recall that for the SB card I used to own, I had to change the BASS_SAMPLE_SOFTWARE (enable) and/or BASS_SAMPLE_FLOAT (disable) options in the WDM Output configuration in order to make it work.

Hardware mixing has the lowest latency in mAirList, so you should try to set that up first.
