playlist item 'linking'

Just discovered the “linking” feature in the playlist. (A bit behind the time I know)

Is it possible to write a command line in a .m3u playlist file to set the status of an item so it sets it when the playlist loads.
For example a song would write that it is ‘linked’ to the next item in the playlist until it reaches an item that is not linked and it would pause.

Chris.

What do you mean by ‘until it reaches an item which is not linked?’ How would the ‘not linked’ item be identified?

And what do you mean by ‘it would pause?’ WHAT would pause? Automated playout? The m3u File Import? Something else?

I’m also intrigued: how would your ‘linked/not-linked’ commands be added to an m3u playlist in the first place? (Just being nosey! :D)

Sounds like he wants to specify “music sweeps” with something like #BEGINLINKED / #ENDLINKED in the same way we can create a Container inside an M3U.

Interesting idea.

Sorry, yes this is what I mean Charlie.

Maybe an idea for development

As a workaround, put mAirList into Auto and just drop a few AUTOMATION BREAK lines into the Playlist at the DJ Breaks - you can do this via M3U, so will work with SPL Creator, Natural Music, Powergold etc.

Rather than #mAirList DUMMY 0 PRESENTER LINK , use #mAirList BREAK PRESENTER LINK
