Hi all,
Is there a way to pre-listen a track directly from the browser?

Hi all,

Hi Maarten,
right-click on the item and choose “PFL” from the context menu.
However, this does not work in the database search; please open the Element properties via context menu and select the tab “Cue editor”.
Hi Uli,
Unfortunately no context menu opens when I right-click an item in the browser.
I tried Configuration > Miscellaneous > Runtime Features; enable/disable Popup menus in folder browsers but that didn’t help. Is there another place the context menu can be set?
Hve you marked (“highlighted”) the item?
Yes I have, I have also tested the right-mouse button elsewhere and tried the keyboard key for context menus.
Hi Uli,
I’m working with Add > Folder Tree (from the browser window). Apparently the PFL does not work there either?
I’m used to working with individual folders on disk without a central database and have not yet created a database. I should probably start with setting up mAirlist DB?
The folder tree is a third-party implementation and can not be used for PFL like other views in the browser.
We recommend it, since this powerful (and small) database is available in all mAirlist editions.
So each mAirList user can work with it and can operate as a client to other mAirList databases that use mAirListDB Server (mAirList Advanced Server or mAirList Professional Studio), if needed.
However, you are not obliged to. There are other ways to save all informations about the tracks, like cue points, normalization etc…
But personally, not only as a mAirlist employee, as a private mAirList customer since 2006, I would like to say that working with a database offers you a full range of possibilities.
We offer this possibility to each customer, because…
We believe that everyone deserves a (one!) professional radio automation software, whatever you broadcast, and wherever we can listen to it.
I worked around this problem by adding a PFL player Screen object.
So I just drop the files I want to listen to from the browser to that player. For me that has become a very handy workflow.
Hi Malte and Uli,
Thanks for the replies! I’ve setup mAirlist DB and added the PFL player screen object. This seems to work pretty well. Too bad that the folder tree and database tab don’t have the same functionality. For instance, I’m missing shift-click on the database tab to select a large number of files.
Would you happen to know if the PFL player has a section in skin.ini to alter it’s colors?
Thanks,
Maarten
