I think that Track separation: caption on this tab should be changed to Title separation:.
Title is the more ‘natural’ word, ‘track’ is ambiguous (does it mean the combination of title AND artist, or not?), and Title is the word used everywhere else in mAirList, thus is more consistent terminology.
The term “title separation” could imply that two items/tracks with the same title (but by different artists) are affected by this mechanism, which is not true.
Every other scheduler I’ve ever seen DOES implement this as genuine TITLE separation. This IS to prevent (for example) Shout by The Isley Brothers appearing in the same hourly playlist as Shout by Lulu and the Luvvers.
If ‘track separation’ in mAirList means that the title AND artist must BOTH match to be ‘separated,’ then I feel that is of very limited usefulness. Changing (in my view, correcting) this to title (ONLY) separation will not only prevent the same title by the same artist repeating too often, it will ALSO prevent the same song by two different artists repeating too often. So that achieves not only what you intended, but also makes the feature work the same way as I think everyone else will expect it to work.
Can this please be changed? Would it mean a lot of work to do that?
Oh. Well, I will just need to re-write that part of the Manual. Because I never imagined that ‘track separation’ could possibly mean anything other than ‘TITLE separation’ as I just described it.
I’m also rather irritated to find that the Mini Scheduler can’t prevent the same song by different artists appearing near each other. That’s an annoying thing to have to remember, and then to manage manually.
