Make attribute visible in playlist

It is possible to give a database entry (for example a song) a certain attribute. For example ‘Year’. The content of this attribute would of course be the year this song was released. I can output the info in the attribute to a log file (%u{Year}), but is it also possible to show this info in the playlist? The playlist would then show artist, title and year.

I’ve searched in the forum, but didn’t immediately find this.
Using 6.3, but I think this might apply to multiple versions.

Thanks in advance,

Bart

Good afternoon Bart, that is certainly possible and also very easy to realize.

Open the separate app “mAirList Configuration”. If mAirList is active, you will receive a warning. You can ignore this (“Continue anyway?” = yes).

Now go to > Playlist and choose > Playlist 1. Select the “Columns” tap and enter the name of the desired attribute in the blank field - in this case “Year”. Save! You now have to restart mAirList :frowning: but after that you will see the Year column in your playlist.

I think you can also change the position of the column by dragging.

Thank you, @Adriaan - was about to write it too

No, unfortunately from V7 on there are no column attributes visible anymore. Though you can display the entry by using the skin.ini to display which Attribute you want to display in the playlist item next to each other.

In the screenshot above the playlist also shows the year, the BPM and the ramps.

Using this entry in the skin-editor window I was able to re-order every entry (in V7 and V8 (!)).

Thanks a lot for this info. I have never messed around with the skin, I think this will be the right time to do so. Both to be a bit future-proof, but also because the main studio is running 6.3, but we have remote voice trackers on 7 and 8.

Speaking of… any chance to also have the attribute visible in the database-playlist window?
