mAirList 3.0

Torben,

I couldn’t find “simple” and “extended” (if you mean “erweitert” - that did not solve the problem)

The files were imported directly via drag&drop from iTunes which worked in 2.2.2 properly.

Sorry for the quality of the screenshots…

Regards, Uli

Most likely a problem with the iTunes interface not setting the artist and title correctly. When you double click one of the items you’ll see that the Artists field is empty.

Also note that some items seem to be ok (e.g. the Eric Clapton one). Perhaps they are getting their data from an ID3 tag or so.

Hello Torben,

thanks for the new 3.0!!!

when i want to start mairlist, i have the message
“Error creating mAirList instance : BASS_ini (2,44100): can’t fin a free sound driver (BASS error 3)”

I don’t understand… ?? !

thank’s

Good idea with id3… you are right, they are mp3’s, since all other files are mp2’s
It’s true, the mp2’s are all in one line “Artist - Title”. But it does not seem to be an iTunes problem. Adding a title via menu option has the same result. :frowning:

But in 2.2.2 it worked well …

Okay, its no serious problem at the moment, just for your information.

Regards, Uli

Hi Cyrille,
I had the same problem as you and found the solution here
Cheers,

A new snapshot is available which fixes this issue.

Hello Torben,

Thanks for v3.0 of mAirList!! Great work. I’ll definitely follow the progress of it.

Sadly I’m not able to test it and find out the new futures at this moment (and the upcoming months). I’m recovering from a back hernia and also the bottom of my back is terrible damaged… and that needs my attention first.

V2.2 is as stable as it can be!!! So we can wait to upgrade…

That doesn’t sound nice. Hope you’ll get better soon.

Funnily enough, I do have a hernia as well (but a regular one, not at the back). It was diagnosed just this morning. I now have an appointment for a surgery next week. I’m afraid the further development of mAirList 3.0 will be delayed by a few weeks due to this circumstance.

By the way, it’s true that there are very few “visible” new features by now. Inside, mAirList has changed a lot. In particular it’s now multithreaded. You can notice this when you see the players display “LOADING” when e.g. pre-buffering a stream item. There will be other things which take advantage of the multi threading. For example, I will make database searches take place in the background.

And, of course, the most important feature of v3.0, mAirListDB, is also still to be released

Torben and Vincent: sorry to hear of your illnesses. :frowning:

Torben: if it’s any comfort, I’ve had five inguinal hernias, the last of which was repaired using a laparoscopic procedure (also known as ‘keyhole’ surgery). I went into hospital at 0830 and was home again (with a Domino’s pizza!) by 1430. The whole process was MUCH better than the traditional ‘cut you open’ method! And as I say, I was walking home within an hour of the operation.

Sounds like you’ve been using some of your station’s “promotional products” a little too enthusiastically?  A severe bout of coughing caused by using things rolled in “papers” was certainly the cause of of one of my hernias!

Well, it was just an ordinary cold I was suffering from last week. No promotional items involved. The surgery is going to be in the traditional way using an “Ethicon” mesh. I’m supposed to be home again a few hours after the operation. Perhaps with a pizza, who knows. My wife will pick me up and carry me up the stairs

(The mAirList 3.0 thread is getting more and more interesting, isn’t it?)

Ah, an ‘old-fashioned’ operation: my sympathies!

Expect to be walking about like a half-closed penknife for a few days afterwards. And good luck! It’ll take about a month or so before you’re fully back to normal, I would reckon.
