Live Streams

Hi Torben and everyone
Weve had a problem with out live streams this afternoon,
28/03/2019 15:00:03 Warning Unable to reconnect to Http://Stream address. after 1078 milliseconds: BASS_StreamCreateURL: can’t open the file (BASS error 2)
The presenter says they were there and connected to the stream.
also in studio, the playlist had X’ed Out the Stream, I had to “recycle” it and It played no probs, the “do not pre buffer” is ticked so it don’t check it before it plays
so what is going on?

Please test if there could be something concerning your firewall.

Found a hint in the german forum:

Regards,
Uli

Hiya, Yes mairlist is listed and ticked in the firewall

Bass Error 2 could also be related to a missing or non functional Lame.exe

Earlier versions of mAirlist came without it due to legal issues, since those no longer exist it usually installs the Lame.exe. Can you double check it is there and accassable (read and execute) by the User you are logged in with?
https://wiki.mairlist.com/faq:bass-error-codes#bass_error_2_lameexe_missing

lame.exe is only relevant for encoding, not for playback.

Error 2 is just a regular “unable to connect” error. Assume the stream was down for a while.

Hi Torben and All.
On another note on live streams
When a Live Presenter doesn’t connect, it moves on to the next item in the playlist that’s all good.
BUT. why does it block out the next try for the live stream out?
my playlist goes like this.
Song
Stream
Song
Stream
Station ID
Song
Stream
etc etc etc
so it blocks out 2 of the next stream tries.
even if a presenter connects to the stream it don’t retry the stream as its blocked 2 of them out. currently someone has to be here to “Recycle” the stream for it to play next if a presenter connects
even if we turned the pre buffer to 0 in settings, it will stick on the stream without moving on if no one is on it. so its not that.
Is there a way for it not to X 2 of them out if a presenter don’t connect? as we really need for it to check the live stream after every song for the presenter.
Thank you

Is the stream you want to connect to …

  1. … each time the same or is it a different one at each playlist entry?

  2. … always (permanent) online or “just in time” at the moment it is planned in your playlist?

Or use the Stream Monitor instead?

No we have that set up like that so it tries the dj stream, if the presenter is late starting it plays a song. but with mairlist it blocks upto 2 of the streams that’s next in the playlist. why does it do that? ive even set the stream as “do not consider as erroneous in check” but it still does it .
