Live Feed audio issues

Hi,

I am trying to set up a live news feed but every time I generate a playlist using it I get two items in the playlist that say “INTERFACE NOT SUPPORTED” either side of the news feed item. If I manually remove these items the news feed does play but it is very poor quality with buzzing etc.

I am running mAirlist on Windows 7 using a Behringer UCA202 USB audio inteface. The news feed audio is coming from a satellite receiver audio out in to the RCA audio input in the Behringer. What am I doing wrong?

Can you please give a little more info about your audio setup? Are you using DirectSound, WASAPI, ASIO, mixed?

Hi Torben,

I have tried DirectSound and WASAPI and I get the same results. It doesn’t give me the option for ASIO in the drop-down box.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Please report exact version and build number.

Does the “interface not supported” message already appear in the scheduled playlist inside the DB app, or only when you try to load and play the feed?

Hi Torben,

The “Interface not supported” items appear in the playlist as soon as I’ve generated it in the DB app. They even appear in the preview window before the actual generation.

I can’t confirm the exact version and build number until I am back at the studio next Wednesday but it was only downloaded about a month ago so it’s not an old version.

Thanks for your help,
Wayne

I think there was a similar bug recently, so please check and report the build number. I am unable to reproduce the issue in the latest v5.2 build.

Hi Torben,

The version of Mairlist we are running is 5.2.1 build 2940

Wayne

Then please make an update first, preferably to the latest v5.2 snapshot (Build 2991).

Hi Torben,

I have now updated to the latest snapshot and unfortunately the problem is still there. Everything else is working great. This is the only issue I have. Are there any log files I can get which will give a better clue as to what it causing this?

Wayne

Can you please send me a copy of your database?

If you’re using a local mode DB (*.mldb file), just upload that file somewhere and send the url to info@mairlist.com.

If you’re on a PostgreSQL database, go to the DB app, Database -> Export -> Clone database, and clone into a local database file (*.mldb), then use the exported file for upload.

Hi Torben,

Sure, I will do this when I am in the studio tomorrow.

Wayne

Hi Torben,

Good news. It appears the UCA202 had an issue as I have replaced this with a Behringer FCA610 and now it works flawlessly. I’m not sure if it was a driver issue or a physical hardware issue with the UCA202 but this FCA610 is a much better device anyway so I’m very happy with it.

Thanks for your assistance.

Wayne

Ok, thanks for the feedback.

I’m also using the behringer UCA202 and have the same problem when I try to get audio from another source. So I think it’s not strong enough.
