I’m just about to UPGRADE my mairlist to the latest 3.1.4. I just wonder whether it won’t touch my own settings, when I do?

Ok, then just run the setup - all of your settings will be preserved.
If you have a mAirListDB set up, mAirList will probably complain that the schema version doesn’t match. In this case, open the configuration, go to the settings of your database connection, and use the buttons on the Upgrade tab to upgrade your database files.
It’s a good idea to make a backup of your mAirList data folder once in a while. It contains all settings as well as the database file (unless you have picked a different folder when you set up the database in the first place). The location of the data folder is displayed in the configuration application on the Advanced -> Data Folders page.
