Hicks on audio

Just a question…I’m using 6.1 but sometimes i have a little hick on audio (keeps hanging for just under half a second) It happens mostly 1 to 3 times an hour at live playing and recording.

What are the best buffersizes on the soundcards to avoid this?

Specs:
Mairlist 6.1 advanced, Pentium i5, 4570k, 3,2 Ghz, 12 Gb Ram…Mairlist from Samsung SSD and music from 7200rpm HDD. Enough space free on the disks (up to 200GB free on the SSD and 800 Gb on the HDD) Priority set to normal and virusscanneer on…Mixer is a D&R webstation with 3 usb soundcards. (Channel 3,4,5) I used also al Behringer 222 converter to make in mairlist a fourth soundcard which is made RCA from USB to channel 6 of my mixer. Using direct sound instead of WASAPI

Will it help to set the prio to highest and switch off the virus scanner??? What are the best buffer settings? Will upgrade to 6.2 help and what will be the effects on the build database? (I want to keep it because i have timed a lot of intro’s in this database)

With voicetracking never had this problem…

Ok, he has the same problem but is there an easy solution?

My specs are way les as yours but I don’t have hicks so my guess is increase the audio buffer size?
