Fullscreen ?

Hi Torben,

Is it a way that you create a new setting for “fullscreen” features ?

We could “maximize” but, for custom layout, it could be very useful that mAirlist could take all the screen space … without the windows system title bar, and without the taskbar (event if for the last one, we could hide it automatically)…

Do you think it’s complex ? a good idea ?

Regards,

Theo

You can un-set “Keep Taskbar on top of other windows” under Control Panel - when a window is maximized, it covers the Start Menu/Taskbar. Hit the Windows key to show it if you need to use the menus

Thank Charlie, I know that
“(event if for the last one, we could hide it automatically).”

It’s possible to program a window without a Title Bar …

… but if you load a mAirList Desktop file, you won’t then know which Desktop file you loaded (because you don’t have a Title Bar, so you can’t then display the Desktop file name, licence number, etc.).

For production use, I don’t need to know wich desktop configuration is loaded.
It’s loaded and that’s all. No need to be change.

I think it could be useful to hide all “windows system” element (by settings customization, for specific purpose of course) that take place for nothing.

Torben, is this idea on your roadmap ? is it hard to implement ?

I assume you do not mean the Windows taskbar?
(If so, change its Properties to Auto-hide, and also to NOT Keep the Taskbar on top of other windows.)

If (as I think you do) you mean the Status Bar at the bottom of the mAirList window, I think it can be ‘hidden’ using a skin.ini setting (but don’t quote me on that!). Remember that if you do this, it’s difficult to access the mAirList system log (that’s the SYSTEM log and not the PLAYOUT log), and very difficult to adjust the mAirList internal date/time when you can’t double-click the time display in the Status Bar. (Do you have summer time or daylight saving time in your country? THAT’S why you might need to change it manually!)

Cad,
You seem not to understand what I mean.

For production use, it’s useless to have the title bar, and the windows taskbar. For the status bar, no matter…
If windows taskbar is needed, just click on the “window” keyboard key and it appears.

Lot of today automation solutions (Zenon Media, RCS, Open Radio…and so on…) take all the screen space for “forgetting” that they run under windows operating system. It’s better, because DJ should not be disturbed by useless GUI area…

I suppose this would require Torben to add a new display object or location to hold the current playlist - as most people will want to know if they are editing/saving a playlist. Typically, this is done in the Titlebar but understandably with software such as this, other options are viable.

How about between the Auto/Assist buttons and the Events Box/Playlist duration ?

Auto/Assist buttons are linked to playlist object (what is quite anoying for my new layout, but never mind…). And so do the events box/playlist duration.

For being more handy, it would be great if we would be able to define some screenobject like “text” and, with actions (scripts, and so on…) we could change the text value…
But, MVC will prevent us from this feature…
