Eject/Close remove from Playlist

Is there a way when running in assist mode that the Eject/Close button can remove the item loaded form the playlist as well?

For example…
-Song 1 is playing
(Presenter fades song1 early to start next song)
-Song 2 is now playing
(Song 1 is paused but as it is still showing in the playlist Eject/Close button doesn’t do anything)

I would like the Eject/Close button to close it from the player and remove it from the playlist at the same time.

Does this make sense?

Chris.

Chris: try the configuration settings below. I thnk they will do what you want.

  1. Set all fader Remote Controls to PLAYER x-y START/PAUSE/STOP.

  2. In each player’s Playlist, Player, Options tab, set Auto release PAUSE when other player is playing or started to on.

Do let me know if this does the job for you.

Thanks Cad,

Sadly not doing it though… Item still sits in the playlist and won’t eject unless deleted from the playlist.

I am using auto load in assist mode which I think may be causing the problem, because if I take this function off then I can eject the item.

Any other ideas?

What’s the state of the player in the moment you click the Eject button? Is it in PAUSE state? Have you enabled “Move item to history when closing paused/EOF player” option? If it’s enabled, everything should work fine as you expect.

If the player is in “LOADED” state (not paused), and you want the item to be marked as history when you click Eject, you must enable the additional option “Move item to history when closing loaded player”. Otherwise, the item will be unloaded but not marked as played, and a player in auto load mode will load the same item again. That can happen so fast that it appears as if the Eject button doesn’t work at all.

This is exactly what was happening, ejecting and reloading so fast that it didn’t appear to do anything.
Correct box ticked and now doing exactly what we want.
Always the obvious things that catch me out
