Sean: I may be wrong but I think that Charlie Davy of this parish was at one time either working on or thinking about a mAirList design that is similar to AudioEnhanceDPS. Or perhaps it was Tony Wilding … or maybe I’m just not remembering correctly!
Anyway, those are the two guys in here whom I would regard as the ‘clone GUI manufacture’ specialists! ;D
I appreciate that all these config options, skin settings and the like may seem quite daunting to new users - but if you take the time to look at some of the many examples (including the ones in the German area), you’ll find enough to get going with. Making the physical GUI layout is quite straightforward once you’ve set your Playlist/Player and Cartwall combinations. There are some helpful HTML colour conversion sites that can give you the values you need (because Windows Paint gives you the RGB values). Sizes and fonts are trial/error.
A DPS-style layout will be interesting because the bottom 2/3 of the screen is switchable between Playlist, Library and Buttons - this is something mAirList cannot do as the Browser is a dominant object. A workaround is to place the Cartwall and Playlist over each other and use the Cartwall Toolbar button to toggle it on/off. The Browser could then be placed to the right of the screen.
Sean: what Charlie said! Do take the time to sit and look at the internals of the various layout files and you will find that most of it really is pretty self-explanatory. Better still, start ‘tweaking’ some of the settings of an existing layout that you like, and you’ll find that you’ll learn even more. If you have the time to use Facebook, you’ve certainly got the time to do that instead!
PS: Your sig. should read “If you’re on Facebook …” (not “If your on Facebook …”). I also wouldn’t expect that many people in here use MSN (or any IM system) either; most of us are old and wise enough not to!
Ok Sean, 15 minutes to spare and because we do like to help wherever we can (Cad is an excellent source for scripts and Charlie layouts) here is a layout to play with (almost DPS). As Charlie suggested click the cartwall button and it toggles on/off the carts. The carts have no buttons as we click to start/stop but should not take too long to enable them again.
Bit of room top right for screen objects. Just go into mAirList config.bat to enable them and then use layout.ini to position and size.
Remember to make a copy of these files before altering!
Zip contains layout.ini - skin.ini and mAirList.ini as a starting block. The other ini files remote, database etc will certainly be unique to how you run.
Hi Sean, that setting is inside the browser section of skin.ini change the add/close/refresh parts from off to on.
The newly zipped and attached skin.ini is ready. we have these turned off for Admin purposes (we also use multiple layouts, depending on who is next On Air).
