Database Server connection

Hi Torben,

I have ran the Database server and configured access. The remote computer managed to connect to the DB right away and we have access to all files from the remote location. However, I am not able to see the playlist. When I go to the playlist tab, all i see is an error message stating : Error:Unknown class. Container.

The access level for the client computer is set to studio.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

It means that there is an element in the playlist that the remote computer cannot handle.

What kind of license is running on the remote computer? Actually all of them should support containers.

I have the 30 minute demo Home Edition… I just installed it a few hours ago.

Can you go to mAirListConfig -> Advanced -> Modules and check if the “AdvancedCore” module is in the list of enable modules?

Looks like the module was missing from the demo licenses. Please use the defaultlicense.lic file from here (replace in the main data folder):

Works great and I have managed to achieve what I wanted within 20 minutes of fiddling. I do however have a question:

We generate 24 hr worth of playlists. Now we are going to rebroadcast another feed between 7 am and 11 am. This can be done with start network stream event. However, with the current append playlist event, the playlist is appended at 755 and at 8 the stream switches off. Is there a possibility to only append playlist in certain hours - run the stream from 7-11 and start the append playlist from 11 to 07?

Quick how-to using mAirList’s Mini Scheduler:

  1. Create the stream as an element in the DB Library, using the New Item menu.

  2. Create a new hour template, named “Stream starts” let’s say, that contains just two items: (a) The start of the hour dummy (with the TOTH fixed time set!) and (b) the stream item (using “specific item”) - no end of hour dummy (very important!)

  3. Optionally, create another hour template (“Stream continues”) that is entirely empty. Also no start/end of hour items!

  4. Go to Template Assignments, and assign the “Stream starts” template to the hour where the rebroadcasting begins, and the “Stream continues” to the subsequent hours.

it is very important that you use the “Append database playlist” action in the hourly event in the playout, not the “Load and play”, as the latter will always fade out the current element.

As nothing is contained in the subsequent hours, the stream item will just continue playing until another hour with music gets loaded.

I never thought of doing it that way. I would have set an event that starts a stream, event that starts automation etc…THANKS!

I have installed the home licence on the actual machine… however I get the same error with Adcontainer. I copied the file you have sent me above in the new instalation, but still doesn’t work. I have sent a bug report.

Again, can you make sure that the license file is current and has the AdvancedCore module in the list of enabled modules?

Also, which program version is this?

Hi, This is 5.2.6 Home edition.Advanced Core is enabled. I have copied the Licence file you have sent here which I used for my laptop, but it does not seem to solve the problem.

Advertising containers require v5.3.

I installed 5.2 home edition on my laptop a few days ago. Replacing the licence file with the one you have sent me fixed the problem. So that is strange.

I will install version 5.3 tonight and see if that fixes the issue. Thanks

First of all, mind the difference between “Advertising Container” and (ordinary) “Container” elements.

Ad containers are a special class that will make mAirList identify ad breaks inside the playlist and use the “update advertising” function.

In v5.2, ad containers were only available in the Professional editions, so any Home Studio license will fail to load then.

Since v5.3 they have been available in Home Studio as well - as long as you load them from existing playlists, you cannot create them from a Home Studio license as there is no DBAdvertising module.

And then there was also an issue with the license files that missed the particular module.

Bottom line is, get v5.3 and a recent license file, and it should work.
