Hello Torben
I am thinking to step over to version 5.2 , want to know how we can import the database from version 4
Goos
Can we use on the server the database from version 4 and in the studio’s the playout of 5.2
Database can be converted with a single click in the config app (schema upgrade).
But you cannot share the database between the v4 and v5! Once converted to v5, it will not work with v4 anymore. So all computers must be the same version.
i did after pc crash an new installation. But now i can’t use any database anymore? If im using database it said to me that im not using the right version.
But i allways can create an track database. So i can use find and search whitin mairlist.
Why is this removed? ore can’t use anymore?
this is a real bummer if it isnt possible anymore!
regards
Berrie
What’s the exact error message you’re getting?
What version/build are you using now, and what version have you used earlier (in case you remember)?

Im using now 5.2 home edition. I did use that one before. But i did everytime an upgrade. From the 4 version when started.
Now i did a new install. And doesnt work anymore. I defenetly need this option. I can’t search al my mp3 files using windows search :-s
the msg i got is db server is not possible in this version. But how do i can search in early’r versions then ?
kindly regards,
Berrie
Again, what’s the exact error message you are getting?
when using Database it said: ‘No database connections found’
When using database auto importer: 'mode 'dbserver’is not availible in this version
When using databse server mode 'dbserver’is not availible in this version
I can’t load any tracks now. Only cut and paste trough windows explorer. Which is odd because with the old install i can use it.
Kindly regards,
Berrie
That simply means that you have not created a mAirListDB in your new installation yet.

You don’t happen to have a backup of the old database file, have you?
Thanks Torben
Our migration to 5 went smootly , already reported in privat mail
