Changing Browser Background and Font Colors

Hello-

Using skin.ini, I have changed the background and font colors of the playlist (looks quite nice). I would like to do the same to the browser; however, I can’t change either the background or font color. I’ve followed the examples in the Wiki and have looked at old posts. Please, am I writing the skin.ini incorrectly or can these colors not be changed?

Thank you!

Best Regards, Alec

Are you referring to the white background of the database and directory listings/trees?

I guess this hasn’t been requested as a feature by anyone yet, so it’s not possibly at the time being. I’ll have a look, perhaps it’s possibly to implement it with minimum effort. Probably not this week though, I’m busy with other work and duties. Feel free to bump this thread if you think it takes too long

Torben-

Wow! That was a fast reply. I had barely finished pressing “enter” and you have replied

Yes, I’m talking about the white background of the browser and the font of the database, folders, folder trees, etc. I wish for browser to color match the playlist side, which has a black background (and row colors) and green text. I would like the same coloring for the browser. I’m surprised that no one has requested this before because I assumed others would be color matching the browser and playlist.

Thank you for your effort on this request.

Best Regards, Alec M.

Hello Torben-

You mentioned that I should bump this thread, so here I am :). Is this something that could be easily done?. I don’t mean to pressure you, so if it’s too much trouble, that is okay to leave as is.

Thank you, Alec M

Sorry, got distracted by a (now) 19-day-old boy

Condition is slightly getting normal again now, whatever that means. I’ll see what I can do for you.

Ok, here we go. Check out the new build 777 (this will become v3.1.2 if everything works ok). Instructions on the new settings can be found in the change log. Regarding the NodeHeight setting, it is computed automatically from the font size, but you can tweak it if you like. If you do not plan to change the font, leave the NodeHeight setting alone.

Let me speak from experience when I say that things will never get back to “normal,” But thats a definite good thing, as you well know :). Congratulations are definitely in tall order !

Thank you for the configuration changes. I’ll have a try. The changelog shows you put much effort into the changes. Thank you again for this.

Best regards to both you and your family,

Torben-

Overall, it works well. I gave it a try and wrote two skin.ini entries: BackgroundColor, FontColor. It works well in that the background is now black and the font is now green. I did notice, however, that when a browser item is selected (actually highlighted) but I then click elsewhere, such as on the playlist, the selected/highlighted browser background changes back to the default MS Grey. Please, am I missing a skin.ini entry? I tried to add additional entries but the MS grey remained.

Thank you again.

Try UnfocusedSelectionColor.

Here’s a list of all colors used by the Virtual Treeview component that can be changed through skin.ini. This applies to both the browsers (in the latest snapshots), as well as the main playlist GUI:

BorderColor
DisabledColor
DropMarkColor
DropTargetBorderColor
DropTargetColor
FocusedSelectionBorderColor
FocusedSelectionColor
GridLineColor
HeaderHotColor
HotColor
SelectionRectangleBlendColor
SelectionRectangleBorderColor
TreeLineColor
UnfocusedSelectionBorderColor
UnfocusedSelectionColor

Thank you Torben! I’ll try to changes tonight when I’m back in front of the machine.

Regards, Alec

Bravo Torben-

That did the trick

Thank You!
