Hiya, I was wondering if it’s possible to have the choice for the cartplayer whether to manually stop the playing cart and start the next one or have it so that it fades out automatically when you click the next cart?
Thanks guys :)

You can add a “trigger” to the second slot: right click the second player and chosse Trigger -> FADE -> FADE 1. After that, when you start the second player, the first one will fade out.
Thanks for your time
I know you can use the “triggers” but I was thinking more of like a button or option you can press/choose so that instead of setting all the “triggers”, when you click a cart it will fade the playing cart and play the selected cart.
For example:
When fader is on: Cart 1 playing, Cart 2 pressed, Cart 1 fades and Cart 2 plays.
When fader isn’t on: Cart 1 playing, Cart 2 pressed, Cart 1 continues and Cart 2 plays on top of it.
Thank you. ;D
You can use keyboard shortcuts and join the two commands with a semicolon: “CARTWALL 2 START;CARTWALL 1 FADEOUT”.
Torben, I think JW means a global setting for this kind of feature. A number of other playout apps offer this facility either as a fade-out or quick-stop feature… JW: As Torben says, you can customize each Cartwall button via it’s Trigger setting - but there’s not quick on/off solution.
I think you could probably achieve a short-term solution via an “OnCartPlayerStart” notification script to fadeout all carts except the one just started…?
Charlie Davy thanks for explaining it! I couldn’t think how to put it!! ;D
But if I used the "OneCartPlayerStart" script would that mean that it would always be fading everytime I press a cart? Because sometimes I want 2 carts playing at once.
The main reason I want this is because when the news bed is playing there are short ident stabs to break the stories up but I wouldn’t want them to fade the bed out but to play on top of the bed.
Thanks.
The script would be quite complex, the cartnumber started will be read and then the fades executed minus that particular cart. However, for your news example - I suggest you you set-up your cartwall with the news idents (in/bed/out etc) and set the triggers if you need them… I typically have News In, Bed and Stab mapped to the same carts because I use a custom Tipro keyboard which also allows me to start them. Then, you can just drop your news items onto the cartwall as you need them - and only save the cartwall when required.
Failing that, you can run the news IDs from within the playlist - the bed can then run via one of the main Players whilst the news items/cuts can play out of the cartwall fader. A final suggestion for your news audio cuts: Cart Stack… You can actually stack-up items on a single cartwall button, and each time a file is played, the next one will play on the subsequent press.
The thing about mAirList is that it can work in any way you like - So pretty much anything is workable
