BASS plugin version number

I wanted to try out the BASSCD plugin, so I downloaded it and installed it in the correct directory, but now when I start mAirList it tells me “Incorrect BASS.DLL version (2.4 is required)” and “Error loading BASS plugin basscd.dll: Error code 2”. I see the mAirList tells me it is using BASS 2.3.0.3 but the plugin is version 2.4.1.0. Is there any way to fix this or do I have to wait for a new version of mAirList?

mAirList 2.x still uses BASS v2.3, so you need the v2.3 versions of all plugins. Unfortunately, Ian has removed all download links to the old version from his site - although the files are still online. What you need to do is replacing “24” by “23” in the download URL.

Download link for BASSCD 2.4: http://www.un4seen.com/download.php?basscd24

Replace “24” by “23”, and you get the download link for BASSCD 2.3: http://www.un4seen.com/download.php?basscd23

Thanks Torben, that got me a correct version of the plugin. Unfortunately BASSCD doesn’t seem to work with mAirList though :frowning:

I’d like to be able to occasionally play CD tracks without ripping them first, is that possible somehow?

That’s what this plugin is about - playing audio CDs as if they were audio files.

But I’m afraid you’re right, it does not work with mAirList. Because mAirList does some things that dont’t work with CDs, for example opening them twice at the same time (for normal playback and for PFL), exact seeking etc.

That’s a pity - would you consider adding in support for occasional CD playback? Even without PFL and accurate seeking it would be useful for those occasions when a guest thrusts a CD into your hand and asks you to play a track from it and there is no time to rip it first.

No, seriously - that would require tons of modifications and if-then-else code. It’s not worth the effort.
