most of my broadcasts are pre-produced. To take advantage of the very well done backtiming functions I either have to start on the hour (of the real time) or set the clock of my PC…
Both is not really fun
Would it be possible to add a “time correction factor” to mAirlist, which can be activated, e.g. that one can say “When the first element of the playlist starts, regard the start time as 16:00h” ? This correction then should be applied to all times in the backtiming until one turns it off, opens a new playlist or closes mAirlist.
I think I see what you mean - When I produce playlists, I always schedule a break-note (in mAirList, it’s called a Dummy) at the start of each hour - You can set it’s actual time in the Properties dialogue - and subsequent items are referenced to that time…
But when you go into Auto, the time is reset to “now” (naturally)… Do you mean keep the “virtual” time that you’ve set because you are playing out the playlist “as live” ? I’m not sure I understand that bit.
It’s an interesting idea, though it requires a lot of work on my side (I will have to identify all places in the source code which refer to the current date or time and redirect them to the fake time functions). Let’s see, perhaps I will manage …
I found the idea so fascinating that I couldn’t resist from implementing it It will be available from v2.1.25. It affects not only the backtiming but the complete internal time base, the event system, etc. Any part of the code that queries the current date/time is now routed through the internal, adjustable clock. I hope that I didn’t miss a spot …
Apart from the playlist item option Christoph suggested, you can also adjust the clock manually by double clicking the time label in the browser or the status bar.
I was looking for this type of feature and saw it was implemented, as a new V3 user, I can’t seem to get it to work. I tried using the Clock or LED Clock in the browser and double-clicking but no joy.
Did I miss something?
Thanks, Richard (apologies for resurrecting an old topic but it seems to relate)
Hm, I cannot try it right now (I’m on my MacBook currently), but double-clicking the small time display in the status bar (bottom right corner of the main window) should work. I’m not sure about the other methods.
