I appreciate this may be a “deliberate” feature, or maybe it’s not - But when you leave a playlist in Automate - that’s empty - as soon as you drop something into it, it starts playing… This is a bit annoying
I’m trying to fathom out how best to work my split-buttons - and at present, I have these configurations:
FM1 Button: AUTOMATION 1 ON;AUTOMATION 1 PLAY
FM2 Button: AUTOMATION 2 ON;AUTOMATION 2 PLAY
It seems to work fine and this configuration ensures that the player/s go into auto (until a breaknote) and perform as one player. Although we leave the players in auto - Perhaps they should fire until you hit start again ? OK, I could just drop a breaknote in first… But that would be too easy
the automation has two separate “modes” or “states”: An “idle” mode (AUTO button is solid red) and an “active” mode (AUTO button is flashing red).
Clicking the AUTO button (while no player is playing) engages the automation, but at first only in idle mode. Playback doesn’t start yet.
Clicking PLAY starts the playback, and the automation goes in to active mode.
Clicking STOP again, or reaching a break point, makes the automation becoming idle again.
When the playlist runs empty in active mode, it will immediately play any item added to the list. In idle mode, it waits for the PLAY button to be pressed again.
This is at least the way it is supposed to work … I was a bit in a hurry when I was re-implementing that yesterday, maybe there’s a mistake somewhere
Tony, the auto load option does only affect assist mode. In automation mode, there is always a special kind of auto load enabled.
