2.1.40 build 449: Stored Cartwall window position/size ignored at startup

When the Cartwall is in its own separate window, and with ‘remember window position’ selected in the Config., the Cartwall window size and position is correctly written into POSITION.INI when mAirList is closed (I’ve checked this!).

However, when mAirList is started again, the stored Cartwall settings are not used and the Cartwall window opens in its ‘default’ size and position.

Yes, I definitely use a custom Layout!

If you look in the Various Skin/GUI Issues thread, there is a Cad-mAirList-INI.zip which I posted. That ZIPfile contains my layout.ini file; in fact, it contains all four of my INI files.

As far as I remember, the “remember position” thing does not work for custom layouts, but you have to specify the desired position and size in your layout.ini file. Just don’t ask me why position.ini is updated then :wink:

Yes, it does work if the Cartwall position values are added to LAYOUT.INI! I think this must be quite a recent change, maybe since 2.1.38 or thereabouts?

By the way, it does make sense to store the Cartwall window position in POSITION.INI, because you can position and size the Cartwall, close mAirList, then cut’n’paste the values into LAYOUT.INI, like I just did ;).

No, it has been this way ever since. Or, at least, this is how it is supposed to be: When the cartwall is displayed in its own window, the values in layout.ini are used for the position on the screen rather than within the main window.

Obviously, this behavior interferes with the position.ini functionality introduced later.

Well, because mAirList stores the current Cartwall position in position.ini, it’s still useful for cut’n’paste into layout.ini. :slight_smile: I reckon it’s useful to have it in both places, but only automatically update the position.ini values at shutdown.
